Contact Us. From experience. I would suggest they you disable the repeater if you have them wired. On the Belkin it is 'Wireless Bridge', when enabled it slowed the network down as they were talking to each other by wire and wireless.
Other thing to think about is channels and interference. I have several Belkin's for laptop access, these are all on the same channel. The industrial units though all use different channels as they are in the warehouse with multiple radios and directional antennas. The term for using AP's as repeaters for each other is a "mesh" network. Mesh with the same radio as the client and the backbone will basically cut your bandwidth in half. Half to the client, half to the backbone. That 54Mbps is the total supported by the AP, not per client.
You must configure the wireless encryption, etc on each fat AP. Unless you are using a controller and thin APs. The more robust units all talk to each other and handle roaming moving between the AP's. The last time my company had a client try to put this in on the cheap and use Linksys AP's, roaming did not work. The handhelds would drop between AP's.
They ended up having to buy new APs to fix the problem. Channels should be on 1, 6 and 11 to avoid interference. All AP's support channeling, not just the more expensive ones. Don't put 2 AP's on the same channel next to each other, it will cause a lot of trouble. Ideally you want to have as little signal on the same channel as possible touching.
If this is only for stationary laptop access, you should have no trouble as long as you set the channels. I would ditch the repeater concept and hook them to the wire.
